Los Angeles, California, is the second largest city in all the US and the largest metropolitan area in the state of California. With nearly 13 million residents in the LA metropolitan area, the 'City of Angels' is an economic hub for the movie, television and music entertainment industries. California is also a world leader in fashion, computer hardware and software, vacations and travel. It follows that real estate in the Los Angeles area is of prime value and due to and almost endless coastline of beaches and surf, as well as a major world job market, Los Angeles real estate is valued highly. Agents and investors have built a vibrant and competitive land and housing market and so Los Angeles homes come at a premium. Originally a territory of Spain, Los Angeles gained independence from Spain first as part of Mexico. The local Spanish and Mexican heritage and culture continues to flavor California with spanish-named towns and the popular villa style architecture. Browse our homes and agents directory specifically for the LA area, and discover the best of Los Angeles towns and areas.
